Charlotte, N.C. - The South Carolina Bar Foundation, philanthropic arm of the South Carolina Bar, recently honored Beverly Carroll (Bev), a partner in Kennedy Covington's employment law practice, as a new member of the Liberty Legacy of Giving at the March Gala held in Columbia, S.C.

At the Gala, Bar Foundation President, John O. McDougall honored individuals for their financial investment in the legal profession through the Bar Foundation. A long-time supporter of the Foundation, Bev has contributed cumulative gifts of $5,000. Additionally, she is a member of the Foundation Board.

"We are so fortunate to have attorneys like Bev who believe in the Foundation," said Shannon Scruggs, executive director of the Foundation. "Through her example, she illustrates that giving back to the profession is an integral component of being a lawyer. We certainly hope that her example will inspire others to support the Bar's charitable arm."

A partner in the litigation department, Bev focuses her practice on employment law advising and litigation. She practices in both North and South Carolina, serving the needs of clients in both states. In addition to litigating typical employment claims involving discrimination claims and non-compete and handbook disputes, Bev counsels self-insured clients in workers' compensation matters and also handles a variety of occupational safety issues. She also works with the firm's employee benefits practice group on matters related to executive compensation, stock agreements and employee benefit plans.
