March 17, 2008

Raleigh and Research Triangle Park, N.C. - The North Carolina Association of Black Lawyers (NCABL) has recently appointed Craigie Sanders, an attorney in Kennedy Covington's real estate practice, as treasurer.

Founded in 1971, the NCABL serves the interests of the state's black lawyers, judges and law students. The organization currently has 900 members.

"We are so pleased that Craigie can take an even more visible role in such an important group as the NCABL," said Gene Pridgen, managing partner for Kennedy Covington. "I'm sure he will apply the same level of dedication and professionalism to this important position as he does in his service to our clients."

Craigie is an attorney in Kennedy Covington's real estate department. He focuses his practice on land use planning and development matters. In addition to having extensive experience working with elected and appointed government officials, Craigie has experience conducting neighborhood and community meetings. As a former city planner, he also has experience in comprehensive planning, rezoning matters, Board of Adjustment requests, plan amendments, historic preservation matters, and city ordinance revisions.

A very active member of the Durham community, Craigie also serves as the co-chair of the White Rock Baptist Church fundraising committee for the Life Enrichment Center and is a member of the Durham Inter Neighborhood Council Executive Committee and the Raleigh-Durham (RDU) Airport Authority Board of Directors.
